Last year, the club provided Emily Lowan with a small contribution to her school trip to Haida Gwaii.  Emily Lowan recounted her amazing trip to Haida Gwaii with her Institute for Global studies class at Claremont Secondary.   It focused on the incredible resilience of the Indigenous people and their fight to exist on Haida Gwaii despite the devastating effects of colonization. Reclamation of their culture, and survival, Emily noted that a great deal of the island was actually second growth forest and sustainable food sources were not easily available.  Emily provided a great presentation and fun video to watch.  Thank you Emily.
